          Hello, we are Eduardo and Alicia Vivanco, continuing a tradition of excellent customer service and workmanship with a family owned and operated business since 1955.

          When grandpa "Doc" & grandma "Cyd" open their doors for business back in 1955 they started a trend in the family that continues today and will go for many years.          

        Grandpa was a podiatrist that after servicing as a surgeon in WW II, he came back home to find that he had to change careers due to different certifications from Illinois to Arizona.

          They opened their doors as an Upholstery shop, then they expanded to upholstery cleaning as well, as the years went by and trends came and went, they found that carpet cleaning was something good to get into, then repair of area rugs was the logical step to take, from there they found that clients were interested in area rugs and binding/edging of carpet remnants.

        At that point they took their chances and shifted from carpet cleaning to the making of area rugs, at first they did repairs and basic square and bind and as time went by they added a couple of services to their list.

        By 1989 grandpa's attention had shifted to custom design area rugs and by that time his granddaughter Alicia had demonstrated her artistic abilities in many ways and grandpa took her under his wing and taught her all he knew about carpet and area rug making.

        In the meantime while Alicia was learning area rugs I became Doc's homemade brew tester, he was in search for a beer he liked and could drink, he was not a beer drinker.

        After a couple of years the Lord took grandpa away from us and we bought the business from grandma, then Alicia got pregnant and I started to learn all she knew about making custom designed area rugs.      

          We bought our house and I built the studio in the back yard and for the next 10 years we made some of the most beautiful pieces. Our custom area rugs are in Hotels, Resorts, Clubs,The University of Arizona and private residences in Tucson, southern Arizona and northern Mexico.

         As you might know the new trend has been tile for the past couple of years, so needless to say we continue the tradition of going with the trends and shifted from custom designed area rugs to custom designed tile murals.

         We design and fabricate decorative custom tile murals, floor medallions, kitchen backsplashes, accent tiles , tile table tops, benches, BBQ backsplashes, etc.

         Our skillfully handcrafted style of cutting the tile makes our murals second to none, we do not paint the tiles, we buy the tile from any of the many sources available, then they are precisely cut by hand to the form we are trying to portray, whether it is an animal, tree, mountain, etc.

         By purchasing the tiles from national stores, it allows our clients to be involved in choosing the style and color that best matches their decor, if we are not located in the same city or state.

         You can see in our catalog that we can do very intricate cuts and we try to find the type of tile (ceramic, porcelain, slate or glaze) to match, as close as possible, the colors  and or texture of the object, animal or design we are trying to represent.

         This process is very different than the typical mosaic murals that you may be familiar with, in our case each piece is hand cut, very rarely a piece is used that does not need cutting in someway.
